The film has garnered rave reviews at festivals and screenings across the country, earning a Top Ten Audience Favourite award at Hot Docs Canadian International Documentary Festival and a coveted repeat nod – presented to the nine most popular movies – from the Vancouver International Film Festival. The film also screened at the Atlantic Film Festival, and is headed to Montreal’s, RIDM (Rencontres internationales du documentaire de Montréal) screening November 13 and 14th.

“I wanted to explore not only the dynamic craftsmanship of these master musicians, but also the life lessons that can be gleaned from passion and dedication such as theirs,” says director John Walker. “For me it was a master-class in the joy of life”.

“The film explores the power of music to inspire and unite,” says Giovanni Hidalgo, one of the most sought-after conga players in the world. “We are drummers, yes, but we are also passionate human beings. I think our stories engage viewers because of the strength, love and faith they convey.”
